Student team takes first place in national design-build competition

A team of CU Boulder civil and architectural engineering students took home first place in theÌý, held earlier this month in Las Vegas.

The competition challenged teams to useÌýÌýto submit a proposal for a parking facility on a college campus. The team participated in several rounds of competition before defending their design and construction plans before a panel of judges in Las Vegas.

This was the second year in a row that CU Boulder’s team made it to the national competition. took home third place.

Team members included:

  • Nathan Klass, BS/MS student in civil engineering
  • Raymond Righi, senior architectural engineering major
  • Shawn Sweeny, BS/MS student in architectural engineering
  • Charles Stephen Von Thaden, senior structural engineering major
