Health and Wellness Services offers a variety of presentations and programming on topics such as stress relief, relationship wellness, sexual health, supporting survivors and more that faculty and staff can request to support their students holistic well-being.

Consultation

Health and Wellness staff are available for consultation with faculty, staff and departments on a variety of topics on a limited basis.

  • Individual components can be incorporated into newsletters/emails, for example, the handwashing guide.

CU Walks

  • Modeled off of the Walk With A Doc program, this series connects a topic with experts available to discuss while walking.
  • Available in person with a virtual option.

Sidewalk Talks

  • A peer coach is available for a brief coaching conversation exploring goals.
  • Available virtually or in-person as allowable.

Hosted, plug and play, or toolkit options.

Sun Safety

  • The Skin Imager helps students explore UV exposure. Students receive information about sun safety and resources for more information.

This toolkit helps people explore their current self-care routine and brainstorm additional strategies to incorporate the practice into daily activity.

This toolkit is meant to be an introduction and can be adjusted for the level of experience students have.

This toolkit helps people explore their current gratitude practice and brainstorm additional strategies to incorporate the practice into daily activity.

Stress(Less)

This toolkit includes the instructions and supplies to guide students in hands-on stress relieving activities.

Toolkits are available for make your own stress balls, slime making and glitter bottles.

Health Equity

The current toolkit includes two video options with supporting materials.

Unnatural Causes is a series of short videos that can be watched independently. A discussion guide is provided.

Bending the Arc is provided in partnership with the University Libraries and explores health equity and social justice through the story of Partners in Health. The video and a discussion guide are available. This can include a hosted discussion with Health Promotion staff or be offered independently through the college/school/program.

These activities are designed to be 鈥減lugged鈥 into existing workshops or events.

Substance Use Activities:

  • Pouring Challenge: Participants will learn about alcohol drink sizes, potency, harm reduction, and effects on the brain. 
  • Pot Boxes: Participants will learn about cannabis forms, potency, harm reduction, and laws.
  • Mixing and Matching: Participants will learn about the effects of mixing alcohol with a variety of other drugs. 

Mindfulness: These activities can be offered by peers if available or pre-recorded versions/scripts and conversation guides can also be provided:

  • A body scan and guided conversation
  • 3-minute mindful breathing activity and guided conversation
  • Mindful eating activity and guided conversation

Slide Decks:  slide decks are available with pre-populated content on the following topics:

  • Stress, anxiety, mindfulness, self-care, shifting focus and increasing resiliency, suicide prevention, illness prevention, sleep, mental health, alcohol and other drugs.

Health and Wellness Trivia: Trivia questions are available for alcohol, marijuana, study drugs, nicotine and vaping, illness prevention, sleep and stress.
