Organization

The University of Colorado Boulder Retired Faculty Association (UCBRFA) is an organization comprised of retired faculty and administrative professionals fromÌýthe University of Colorado Boulder. The association is supported and funded by the Office of the Chancellor, the Office of the Provost, and the Office of Faculty Affairs, and is closely allied with the Boulder Faculty Assembly (BFA).

CU Boulder Retired Faculty Association Officers

The following group of members is given broad decision authority by the UCBRFA's Provisional Bylaws to govern the association's mission, goals, programs, and image:

  • J Mckim Malville is interim Chair of the association
  • Leland Giovannelli isÌýinterim Vice-Chair of the association

The duties for each of these positions,Ìýas stipulated by the UCBRFA's Provisional Bylaws, are as follows:

The Chair calls, sets the agenda for and presides over all UCBRFA general meetings, and chairs all BoD meetings. ÌýThe Chair reports regularly to the BoD, to the UCBRFA, and to the Vice Provost and Associate Vice Chancellor for Faculty Affairs. ÌýThe Chair sees that actions declared at these meetings are properly executed and may appoint a responsible person(s) to do so. ÌýIn consultation with the BoD, the Chair may appoint At Large members to serve on the BoD. ÌýIn consultation with the BoD, the Chair may also appoint committees, temporary or permanent. ÌýThe Chair ensures that all reports are properly filed and retained.

The Vice-Chair assists the Chair, has full authority to act for the Chair in her/his absence or incapacity, and performs such other duties as may be assigned by the Chair.

The Secretary maintains and distributes in a timely manner "minutes" of UCBRFA meetings and BoD meetings. ÌýThe Secretary provides notices to the UCBRFA and BoD members as necessary. ÌýThe Secretary maintains the UCBRFA membership list, and files and retains any official forms required by the university.

The Treasurer is responsible for ensuring the collection of all dues and other income, is responsible for handling all disbursements of the UCBRFA, has supervision of all funds belonging to the organization, and is responsible concerning all fiscal matters of the UCBRFA. ÌýThe Treasurer reports to the BoD in a timely manner all financial activities of the UCBRFA and prepares an annual financial statement for the UCBRFA members.

  • Nomination process begins.ÌýAn email will be sent to the membership announcing the nomination and election processes, with details on the UCBRFA website. All nominations can be submitted by clicking on the "Submit Your Nominations" button.
  • Nomination process closes.
  • Election process begins. The ballot will be made available to the membership andÌýinformation about the nominees for each officer position will be posted on the website. Eligible voters (CU Boulder retired faculty) should submit their ballot by clicking the "Submit Your Vote!" button.
  • Voting ends at 5:00 PM (Mountain Time).
  • Election results will be announced at the Spring Business meetingÌýand posted on the UCBRFA website.
