Your business school journey should be a time of discovery. Most students arrive at Leeds undecided about their specialization or major (here, we call it your area of emphasis). Many who do know change their minds along the way. Still others discover a passion for something niche, like cybersecurity or sports entrepreneurship.

Whatever your vision—and no matter how often it changes—the Career Development Office at Leeds will be your partner in understanding how a calling becomes a career. Our career advisors are connected to professionals in every industry you can imagine, and provide personalized support and connections to help you find the right path for you. 

We’re proud of our track record—six months after graduation, about 90 percent of our students have secured jobs or admission to graduate programs. But the goal at Leeds isn’t just to help every student find a job—it’s to help every student find the right job that sets them up for long-term professional fulfillment and satisfaction. That means leveraging our vast network of top employers—not only for recruiting events and career fairs, but in class discussions, case competitions, club meetings and more.

What is placement?

At Leeds, we'd love to brag about a 100 placement rate—meaning every single student has a solid plan at graduation, whether that's grad school, a job offer they've accepted or are serious about, or starting a business. Some schools do make that claim.

But part of our individual approach is working on each student’s time frame. We believe every Leeds student has a unique path, and we are committed to helping every student in the way they want to be helped.

At graduation each year, nearly two-thirds of our 1,000 graduates collect their diplomas knowing exactly what their next step will be. Those students are considered placed. The other one-third are still exploring and job searching, or planning to take some time off over the summer. 

By the end of the summer, more than 80 percent of the class has firm professional plans. ¿ªÐÄ¹í´«Ã½ 10 percent are still searching; the rest have deferred their search for other reasons, like travel or to study for exams like the LSAT.

At six months out, 90 percent have shared their professional plans. At that point, some are still deferring and some are job searching—and have jobs, but haven’t told us.
